The cycle of death and rebirth has been a recurring concept for thousands of years. In terms of industrialized farming practices, however, this idea has been lost to time. Large-scale farming is one of the leading factors contributing to global warming. This industry is well known for its use of chemicals and GMOs and widespread animal cruelty. Ouro Grove aims to counter all of this.
Ouro Grove is a farm in northern Kentucky that uses regenerative farming techniques which are proven to not only do less harm to the environment but even help restore carbon levels in the soil. Its name is derived from “ouroboros” which is an ancient symbol of rebirth and new life and is often depicted as a snake eating its tail. At Ouro Grove, we produce high-quality products free from hormones and harsh chemicals. Our livestock is given the highest quality of life which in turn produces high-quality animal products. Ouro Grove is completely transparent about how products are produced because we believe that knowing what you put on your table is essential. Within this exhibit, you will find variations of food and product packaging, promotional material, and wearable items for the farm. All this together is meant to bring to life the idea of Ouro Grove and showcase alternative farming practices.
The images below show different aspects of the process and the ideas behind the designs.
